About the event
Billy Neal has just returned from 6 month tour in Europe & has joined forces once again with Lez Karki & the band to produce an unrivalled show for blues and Soul fans.
Billy and Lez use only the finest musicians on offer including Paul Meyers on Drums and Tony King on Bass.
Lez Karski (founder member of Bondi Cigar) is the unique vocal & guitar style of the Hippos, Bondi Cigars, Foreday Riders & Nervous Investors. He is as you would expect, a top shelf Australian blues and soul player, with a hint of country for good measure.
Songs range from Hippos classics, through Bondi Cigars and Foreday Rider’s favourites, as well as material from Lez’s South & West Australian bands, The Donkeys and Nervous Investors.
Engaging the feet and brain, the music is guitar driven dancing fun, including selected tunes from the likes of Willie Dixon, Eric Bibb, Anne Peebles, Magic Sam, Robert Cray, Chris Cain, Hendrix & Cream. Always engaging and dynamic, with Lez’s unique guitar and vocal style, this is blues at its best.
Billy Neal is a charismatic International Blues singer and sax player from Perth West Australia, he tours Europe every year for three months and is a regular feature at Chicago All Souls festival. Billy performs regularly with the English violinist Nigel Kennedy and worked for four years with the late guitar legend Jarek Smietana producing three albums with his band.
He has performed for Princess Diana and Princess Anne on a number of occasions and at top venues including The London Savoy, The Cafe Royal & Hammersmith Palais.
"What a voice man" - Nigel Kennedy
“Bill is one of the finest natural musicians and singers I have ever met and had the pleasure to play with. A man of prodigious talent, roaring with life and fire and a man who when he walks into the room or out on stage makes the place feel full of warmth.
Catch him when you can as I guarantee you will not be disappointed.” - Sir Tim Smit
